During a press conference that held immediately after their meeting today 2nd July 2022 at the Azikiwe road office of the party in Umuahia, Abia State, the spokesperson and secretary of the party Barrister Perfect Okorie made it clear that the former Minister of State Mines and Steel Development remains the only governorship candidate of the party in Abia State as communicated to NWC of the party by INEC.
He further stated that the resolve of the party to take over power from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State come 2023 has not changed. Barrister Perfect Okorie maintained that the party is ready and are working toward taking over Abia State government house through the ballot box in 2023.
On the reported reconciliation of Abia State APC that took place few weeks ago at Nkalakwu, the spokesperson described the event as a sham and ruse. He said the event had no representation of the authentic APC.
While supporting the positions postulated by Barrister Perfect Okorie, Rt. Hon. Stanley Ohajuruka insisted that they followed the directive of the NWC to conduct the primaries that produced Dr. Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah and therefore they will stand by it.
