Why Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos Declared Support For Tinubu’s 2027 Re-election Bid | SECRET REVEALED

Ohanaeze Ndigbo in Lagos has declared full support for President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid. Find out the reasons behind their decision and how it may shape Lagos politics ahead of the polls.\

… Igbo leaders in Lagos rally behind President Tinubu, call for unity between Yorubas and Igbos ahead of 2027 elections

In a bold political clarification that has sparked nationwide attention, the Ohanaeze Ndigbo community in Lagos State has publicly declared its support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid ahead of the 2027 general elections — explaining that their decision is rooted in the need for unity, peace, and sustained development in Nigeria’s commercial hub.

Speaking during a reconciliation parley organized by Dr Abdul-Azeez Adediran (Jandor), Lead Visioner of the Lagos4Lagos Movement, the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos, Chief Sunday Udeh, said the group’s support for Tinubu is based on confidence in his leadership capacity and his efforts to stabilize the country despite inherited challenges.

Chief Udeh dismissed speculations suggesting that the Igbo community in Lagos had distanced itself from the ruling party, noting that relations between the Lagos State Government and the Ndigbo had only been strained after the 2023 elections but were now being repaired.

“We are not in doubt of his victory in 2027. President Tinubu knows the game, and our party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), will win again,” Udeh declared confidently.

He called on both Yorubas and Igbos in Lagos to avoid ethnic animosity and work together, stressing that peace and coexistence are vital for the continued prosperity of the state.

“The Igbos must respect their hosts and support the government that has accommodated them. 2027 is close, and we are ready to work for the party,” he added.

Also speaking, Deacon Charles Obih, National President of the Market Leaders Association of Nigeria (TMLAN), assured that the Igbo business community in Lagos would mobilize massively for Tinubu’s second-term victory.

“We will move around to ensure the re-election of President Tinubu is seamless by the grace of God,” Obih stated, describing the president as “a capable leader who has shown uncommon courage in tackling Nigeria’s economic and structural challenges.”

Similarly, Dr Okey Anorue, the Eze Ndigbo of Igbogbo/Bayeku and Babaloja of Tejuosho Market, urged a change in the narrative surrounding Igbo–Yoruba relations, saying politics should not divide the two groups.

“When in Rome, behave like the Romans. We must maintain peace with our hosts and not allow ourselves to be used by politicians,” Anorue cautioned.

From the women’s wing, Chief Amaka Chibuzor, Ndigbo Women Leader of Coker Aguda, reaffirmed that Igbo women are fully aligned with the APC’s re-election structure. She described the APC as “the winning team” and encouraged Igbos in Lagos to join hands to secure Tinubu’s 2027 mandate.

“The Yorubas have shown us love; we must reciprocate that love through our votes in 2027,” added Mrs Uju Ofohre, an APC women leader from Ejigbo LCDA.

The gathering, attended by market leaders, community heads, and party loyalists, was seen as a strategic reconciliation effort aimed at bridging post-election ethnic divides and fostering mutual political cooperation ahead of 2027.

Political analysts believe that the public endorsement by Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos could strengthen Tinubu’s electoral base in the state, particularly among non-Yoruba residents who form a significant portion of the voting population.
