The Imo State Police Command have arraigned fourteen aides of a former governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, before her lordship, B. U Adikaibe of Magistrate Court 4, Owerri.

It was gathered that the fourteen were arraigned on a seven-count bordering on disturbance to the security of the state and destruction of government seal at Royal Spring Palm Estate, Owerri, on Sunday.

While E.S Ibechem is the prosecutor, Eddy Onyema is the leading counsel for the defendants.

After hearing bail applications for and against the defendants, the magistrate went on15 minutes break to enable her to rule on the bail applications.

This is as security is tightened in and out of the courtroom.

Recall that Okorocha was arrested on Sunday for forcefully unsealing the Royal Palm Estate sealed by the Imo State government under the leadership of current Governor Hope Uzodinma.

Okorocha was said to have broken the chain and seal of the estate to recover the property seized by the state government from his wife, Nkechi.

He was reportedly accompanied on the mission by his son-in-law, Uche Nwosu.

Others arrested were Ijeoma Igboanusi, the deputy chief of staff (Domestics), and Lasbrey Okafor-Anyanwu the Commissioner for Transportation during Okorocha’s administration.

The former governor was later released by the police.
