President Muhammadu Buhari has reaffirmed the resolution of his administration to bring back cattle grazing routes as a means of resolving the ravaging conflict between herders and farmers.
The President stated this in an interview with Channels Television on Wednesday, 5th of January 2021, revealing he has had series of personal discussions with the nation’s agriculture minister, Mohammed Sabo Nanono to bring back the cattle grazing routes used in the First Republic,majorly in the Northern part of Nigeria.
President Buhari added;
“So we have to go back to that again and make sure that we prepare those grazing areas and put the veterinary in place. We are working towards achieving that”.
Similarly, the restoration of cattle grazing routes has been under public scrutiny with many Nigerians recounting how hundreds are killed yearly across the nation as a result of the devastating clash between farmers and herders.
