The Minority Whip and member representing Arochukwu State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Dr. Mike Ukoha has charged youths of Ihechiowa community in Arochukwu L.G.A to as a matter of urgency ensure they enroll in the ongoing Skills Acquisition program in Umuahia, so as to benefit from its many good opportunities.
Dr. Ukoha who gave the charge at Atan Ihechiowa Civic Hall, during a Town Hall Meeting, on Friday, August 30, 2019, stated that the ongoing Skill Acquisition in Umuahia has become very necessary due its many benefits.
The lawmaker hinted that the three/six months training duration enables a participant to learn a particular skill and at the end, such individual will be empowered to start up on his own and help to reduce crime in the society.
Rising from a unanimous resolution, the Council of all Ndi Ezeogo in Ihechiowa presented a three cardinal challenges to the lawmaker to include construction of Umuchi-Okpo-Achara-Umuzomgbo-Obinto Ihechiowa-Arochukwu ring road, repairing of Obinto/Nworie market which is being threatened by gully erosion, as well as ensuring that all Ezeogo in Ihechiowa are included in the stipend being given by the government to Traditional Rulers in the State.

Also speaking, Comrade Darlington Aja Torti who spoke on behalf of the youths, said the youth wants a Skill Acquisition Centre to be built for them so as to keep the youth engaged.
He further stated that the provision of an Acquisition Centre will make youths of the area to be committed and shun anti-social vices capable of truncating their lives.
Reacting, Hon. Dr. Mike Ukoha promised to go back and articulate all that they have enumerated as their challenges, adding that with a collaborative effort, they will all be tackled.
In a vote of thanks, Chief Kelechi Patrick Kalu expressed delight on the visit by their representative and prayed God to guide him and give him wisdom in all that he does.
