Prof. Uche Ikonne Dedicated His Life To Advancing Knowledge – Oracle Nwala Says As He Pays Last Tribute

A legal luminary, Oracle Nwala, Esq has paid his last tribute to late Professor Uche Ikonne, a former governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Abia State, describing him as a man who dedicated his lifetime on earth on advancing learning and knowledge.

Nwala in his tribute, also described the late Professor who was laid to rest on Friday, April 28 as a man of integrity, a role model to many and a man who “raised the dais of strategic leadership profile in statecraft.”

He commiserated with the family of late Ikonne adding that “We shall continue to honour his memory by continuing to pursue the ideals of excellence, integrity and service that he personified.”

The tribute read;

I join all being of goodwill in paying unreserved respect and tribute to the life and legacy of Professor Uchenna Eleazar Ikonne, who is being laid to rest today.

I make haste to state that he was a brilliant scholar, an outstanding researcher, and an exceptional teacher who dedicated his life and times to advancing learning and knowledge in Nigeria and beyond. I equally agree with many others that Prof raised the dais of strategic leadership profile in statecraft.

Professor Ikonne’s contributions to the academic world were numerous, sterling and far-reaching, culminating to his assumption into the Office of the Vice Chancellor, Abia State University, Uturu. He was also a visiting professor at several universities around the world, sharing his knowledge and expertise with students and colleagues alike.

Beyond his academic accomplishments, Professor Ikonne was a man of integrity and character who inspired many with his passion for excellence and unparalleled commitment to service. He was a mentor and a role model to countless students and young professionals, particularly in the field of optometry and medical sciences, where he held the ace.

I am persuaded that his impact in the lives of those he mentored will endure for years to come.

As we bid a deserved farewell to Professor Ikonne today, we celebrate his life and legacy. We shall continue to honour his memory by continuing to pursue the ideals of excellence, integrity and service that he personified.

On this note, I step forward again to commiserate with the family he has left behind, particularly, his very supportive wife and obi di ya, who is currently the Solicitor General of my dear Abia State.

I know, with the precision of the Jewish Prophet, that the earthly experience of Prof will be nothing compared to the celestial bliss he has been ushered into that is completely mingled with the fragrance of the Trinity.

May Prof’s soul and the souls of all the faithful departed continue to savour eternity
