Nigerian singer, actress and songwriter, Tiwatope Savage, professionally known as Tiwa Savage has shared her awful experience in London which made her almost commits suicide twice.
Speaking in a recent interview on Bounce Radio, the 40-year-old celebrity told media personality and Big Brother Naija host, Ebuka Obi Uchendu that she suffered a series of bullies while in London as a kid.
According to Savage, she moved to London with her mother at age 10, and unfortunately, her strong mother tongue became a subject of ridicule in her school and neighbourhood.
“I was teased so bad. They used to call me ‘African girl’, ‘Foo foo’, ‘Your food smells’ and so on. It was terrible. It was so bad that I literally tried to kill myself two times. I was really depressed,” said Tiwa in the barely 30 minutes interview.
