Ten Hag Reveals Maguire Chances, Keen On More Options
Following continuous banters and booing that have trailed the performance of Manchester United’s captain, Harry Maguire, Ten Harry has advice the skipper to up his game so as to win critics over.
Ten Hag who has brought so much optimism in the team since becoming the coach has retained the England centre-back as the captain despite his much struggling in last season.
Speaking the possibility of acquiring new players in, the Dutchman stated;
“The team and Harry can by performing, and that is the only focus.”
United have been impressive as they have won all their pre-season’s matches so far without their legend Christiano Ronaldo who was excused because of family issues.
However, the United coach stated that he is more focused about the players who are presently in the team as they are doing great and in good shape.
“I prefer to focus on that and develop that. I cannot wait for him to come in, then we will integrate him.”
United have signed left-back Tyrell Malacia, centre-back Lisandro Martinez and playmaker Christian Eriksen but appear in need of a central midfielder and forward.
“We signed Eriksen for the midfield department, so we are really happy with that,” Ten Hag said.
“We need more options where you have a good team, and it’s not only about the team, you need a good squad to get the right results at the end of the season.
“So we have to strengthen the squad even more and we are looking around, but we also need the right players.”
