Supermarkets Selling Expired Products, Sealed In Lagos State | READ DETAILS

The monitoring team of Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency (LASCOPA), on Monday discovered and sealed two supermarkets for selling expired goods.

LASCOPA on it’s Twitter handle said products like Tom Apple Drinks among others, which had expired since January 2023, were found in the supermarkets.

Though the Agency did not mention the name of the supermarkets, one of the photos posted by LASCOPA from the operation site bears Toby Ed Supermarket. ALL FACTS NEWSPAPER also noticed that LASCOPA displayed containers of expired quaker oat cereal.

LASCOPA tweeted;

“In a bid to rid the state of expired, unwholesome and substandard products, Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency (LASCOPA) has again sealed up two supermarkets.

The Supermarkets were sealed for selling expired products ranging from Tomi Apple Drinks. In the course of Inspection of the Supermarkets by the Monitoring and Enforcement team of Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency (LASCOPA), some of the products were found to have expired since January 2023″.
LASCOPA had on March 28, 2023, sealed Chiffy supermarket, located at No 3, Oduduwa Crescent GRA, Ikeja for selling expired toothpaste and other household products.
