Sunday Ubua: Appeal Court Denies Abba Kyari’s Associate Bail | READ DETAILS
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Sunday Ubua an associate of suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari, has been denied bail by the appeal court sitting in Abuja.
Recall that Abba Kyari and Ubua are being prosecuted in court by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) over drug charges.
Delivering judgement on the bail application filed by Ubua on Friday, a three -man panel led by Justice Stephen Adah held that Ubua’s appeal was without merit thereby affirming the March 28, 2022, ruling of Justice Nwite of the Federal High Court Abuja.
Justice Nwite had rejected Ubua’s application for bail on the grounds that the prosecution placed sufficient materials before the court to warrant its rejection of the bail application.
In the fresh ruling, the appellate court held that the appellant did not present any new materials before the court to warrant the court’s departure from the earlier decision on the issue by Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court, Abuja.
