On Tuesday, August 6, the Nasarawa State government confirmed its readiness to implement the newly approved N70,000 minimum wage. This announcement was made by Peter Ahamba, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Abdullahi Sule on Public Affairs, during a visit to journalists at the correspondents’ chapel in Lafia, the state capital.
Ahamba emphasized that the adjustment to N70,000 will not only enhance the welfare of civil servants but also improve their productivity.
“The N70,000 minimum wage is now a reality,” Ahamba stated. “President Ahmed Bola Tinubu has sanctioned this amount for workers, and Governor Abdullahi Sule’s administration is fully prepared to adhere to this new wage structure.”
He further reassured that the governor is committed to implementing the new minimum wage for the state’s civil servants, underscoring the administration’s dedication to worker welfare.
