Two senior officials of the Saving One Million Lives Programme for Result (SOML-PforR), has been suspended by the Kwara State Government.

The SOML-PforR is an initiative to improve the state of maternal and child health, nutrition and population.

The suspended officials are the SOML-PforR State Programme Manager, Dr Ibrahim Omar, and the Programme Accountant, Alabi Rahman.

They were suspended to allow for a probe into an alleged mismanagement of N170m SOML-PforR fund.

According to a statement, signed by the Press Secretary, Ministry of Health, Falade Gbenga, a preliminary probe into the allegations revealed “some inconsistencies,” and  efforts to get the officials to offer explanations and verification were “being deliberately frustrated.”
