…. Concerned citizens say careless leadership is putting the district on the wrong path.
Abia North Concerned Citizens have raised fresh concerns over the leadership of Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, insisting that the district can no longer afford “misplaced steps” in the National Assembly.
In a strongly worded statement tagged “Slippers on the Wrong Feet, Leadership on the Wrong Path”, the group drew a striking metaphor, likening Kalu’s representation to a man who wears his slippers on the wrong feet—an act that may appear small but symbolizes carelessness, disorientation, and lack of attention to detail.
According to the group, governance is about details, and when little things are ignored, bigger responsibilities are likely to suffer. They stressed that Abia North cannot afford a senator who is distracted or careless, especially at a time when the constituency is faced with poor roads, underfunded schools, weak healthcare facilities, and unaddressed economic challenges.
“Slippers are the easiest part of dressing. If you can’t get that right, how can you handle the complex machinery of a senatorial district like Abia North?” the statement queried.
They argued that just as misplaced slippers distort walking steps, misplaced leadership derails the progress of a people. For them, the message is clear: a senator who cannot get the fundamentals of representation right cannot be trusted with the destiny of millions.
The group further accused Kalu of failing to give Abia North the clarity, attention, and balance needed at the National Assembly. They insist that the district deserves a senator with vision, focus, and the ability to get the basics right—both symbolically and practically.
“If slippers can be misplaced, what about Senate motions? What about oversight? What about the destiny of our people?” the statement added.
The Concerned Citizens concluded that Abia North must “walk in the right direction” and that it is time to replace Orji Uzor Kalu with a leader whose “head, heart, and even slippers are in the right place.”
