The Transition Committee Chairman Isiala Ngwa South L.G.A, Comrade Iyke Anyatonwu has distributed sets of motorcycles to the Vigilante groups in the area to compliment the good works they are already doing in the council.
Comrade Anyatonwu while distributing the motorbikes charge the vigilante group in the local government to ensure they make judicious use of the machine in community policing, pointing out that the lives of the citizens and their properties remains paramount to him and his administration.
He further said that with what they have done so far in terms of security in the area, IsialaNgawa South now rank first as the most peaceful and safest council area in the State, and promised to continue to do more so as to enhance the security situation of the area.
Speaking at the occasion, the Assistant Commissioner of Police In charge of Isiala Ngwa North/South Area Command Mr. Chukwuka Onuoha thanked the Council boss for placing importance on security, hinting that he has improved the fortunes of the area security wise ever since he became the chairman.
The ACP expressed delight that with the empowerment giving to the vigilante groups in the area, it has help in complimenting what the Police is already doing in the area, and assured every one of his men’s resolve in making the council crime free.
Also speaking, the Chief Security Officer of the Vigilante group Mr. Alwell Nwanukwa thanked the council boss for empowering them with the bike and assured that the group will do their job the way it supposed to be done in the area.
Speaking in an interview, the Deputy Chief of Staff office of the Deputy Governor Chief Ukpai Agwu Ukpai who also graced the occasion, thanked Comrade Anyatonwu for the facelift he is given the council and described him as a security conscious Chairman.
Chief Agwu Ukpai expressed pleasure that with the remarkable speed he is making in security matters, posterity will be kind to him and call on all the stakeholders to rally round him in order to more for the council.
Highpoint at occasion was the issuance of certificates to some of the youths in the area under Isiala Ngwa South Youth Empowerment Scheme that recently completed their training on Electrical Engineering and Solar Energy installations with a charge to train others.
