Speaker of the 7th Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji, has commiserated with the family of Late Chief Okwara Osonwa Okwara, the Ugomba 1 of Ebem, Ikejimba of Ohafia and the Enyi Abia of Abia State, over the death of their patriarch who passed away recently at the age of 84.
The Speaker who described the Late Chief Okwara as an accomplished civil servant who served the nation meritoriously and retired in 1994 as an Executive Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), said he never forgot his roots but also made himself available to the service of his people both at the community and State levels, and even beyond.
He told the family through their son, Mr James Osonwa Okwara, that they should be consoled that their father bequeathed great virtues and an enduring legacy in Abia State in particular and the nation in general, a rare feat that also made him to be bestowed with the title of Atoyegbe 1 of Isolo in far away Lagos State.
“On behalf of myself, my family and Honourable Members of the 7th Abia State House of Assembly, I assure you and the entire Okwara dynasty that our thoughts are with you in these difficult times even as we pray the Almighty God to grant the soul of Pa Okwara eternal rest”, he concluded.
The Late Chief Okwara Osonwa Okwara was a Chartered Accountant who was in private practice until his death recently.
