OSSAH ROAD PROJECT: Gov. Otti Approves Payment Of Compensation To Owners Of 130 Structures

The Abia State governor, Dr Alex Otti, OFR, has approved the full payment of compensation to owners of 130 legal structures along Ossah-Okpara square road in Umuahia.

Recall that governor Otti had assured that compensation would be paid before demolition of properties for the construction of the six lane road project.

Meeting with owners of affected structures on Friday at the International Conference Centre (ICC) Umuahia, the governor, represented by the Honourable Commissioner for Lands and Housing, Mr. Chaka Chukwumerije noted that compensation would be disbursed as recommended by estate valuers, effective from Monday, September 25,

Mr. Chukwumerije reassured the property owners that only the structures that were captured and marked for demolition would be demolished, adding that a list of affected owners has been compiled to qualify for compensation.
