JUST IN: Ondo Assembly Withdraws Appeal Against Deputy Gov, Aiyedatiwa | READ WHY
The appeal filed by the Ondo State House of Assembly against the Deputy Governor of the state, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has been withdrawn.
The appeal was withdrawn from the court of appeal sitting in Abuja during proceedings on Thursday.
Announcing the withdrawal of the appeal, counsel to the state Assembly, Remi Olatubora, SAN told the court that the parties in the matter have found a political solution to the issue.
Recall that Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court, Abuja had on September 26, 2023 restrained the Ondo State Governor, its Chief Judge, the House of Assembly, its Speaker, and others, from proceeding with their planned impeachment of Aiyedatiwa pending the determination of a pending motion on notice for interlocutory injunctions.
The Speaker and the National Assembly however, appealed the ruling on October 3, 2023.
