Foremost Ohafia born philanthropist and community builder, Dr. Barr. Okwun Ojah will flag off the second edition of inter-community football tournament in Ohafia.
The legal luminary reiterated that the project is part of the community development plans of Ojah Family Foundation, noting that sports has been a tool used to encourage strong community bonds, promote social cohesion, and reduce crime rates.
He further stated that the project will arguably help young people rebuild community trust, cultivate tolerance, provides positive diversion for young people to express themselves, and build-social leadership.
Recall that Chief Barr. Dr. Okwun Ojah is a rare Nigerian who is very selfless and committed to fairness, justice and equity. He has contributed immensely to the well-being and improved standard of living of many rural communities in Ohafia through the construction of road (Amangwu-Amaekpu Ohafia road), provision of transformers for power generation, distribution of food items, buckets, and sanitizers during COVID-19 to some communities including Ndi Ibe, Amuma, Amaekpu, Ufiele-Aku, Oboro, Ndi Aku, and Ndi Uduma Ukwu, Akanu Ukwu Ohafia water project, supported the training of youths in different skills through the National Association of Ohafia Students Worldwide, award of scholarships, to mention but few.
This year’s football tournament is slated to start from September 4th 2022 and end December 25th 2022. The competition will hold at Ofali-Agwu Mini Stadium, Amaekpu from 3:30pm to 6pm daily and will streamed live through www.ojahfamilyfoundation.org
