It was a moment of joy and respite for the people of Obuohia-Obu-Ibere Autonomous community in Ikwuano LGA as the member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia federal constituency, Hon. Sam Onuigbo on 24th of August 2019, commissioned a Cottage Hospital and Electricity projects in the area.
Speaking while commissioning the projects, Hon. Sam Onuigbo explained that he decided to embark on the projects because they are very important to him.
The lawmaker noted that the cottage hospital which was built in 1984 has suffered years of neglect which led to its gross dilapidation, explaining that in 2016, he decided to start the project to alleviate the sufferings of the people.
Hon. Onuigbo further hinted that having lived in the rural area while growing up, he witnessed the many sufferings of the people, especially pregnant women, the aged and sick ones.
He thanked the federal government, NDDC, Rural Electricity
The federal lawmaker used the medium to appeal to the various sectors such as Health Management Board, Federal Medical Center, State Ministry of Health and other donor agencies etc for a collaborative effort.
According to him, the special request is aimed at ensuring that the cottage hospital does not suffer the neglect if the past that led to its dilapidation.
