Dr. Chima Anyaso has asserted that the only vehicle for the restoration of Abia state is the Young Progressive Congress (YPP) which Engr. Enyinnaya Nwafor is at the helm as the governorship flagbearer.
The deputy governorship hopeful under YPP said this during an Exclusive Interaction with AF-TELEVISION.
Anyaso who contested for the governorship primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stated that he left the party after he realized that the PDP vehicle had broken down beyond repair. WATCH VIDEO BELOW:
“We had wanted to actualize the Abia North Project which is to produce the next governor for the state as the clamor of zone demanded, but we jettisoned it after we realized that that the vehicle which we wanted to use, which was PDP broke down beyond repair”
According to him, his insistence for a better Abia made him to align with the YPP and its governorship candidate as it is the only vehicle that will give the state the good governance that has proven elusive in the present administration.
He disclosed that the party’s (YPP) governorship candidate, Engr. Nwafor share the same vision and drive with him and that inspired his decision to support him as his running mate, adding that it was not personal but about the collective good of Abia people.
“I found in him, someone who has been preparing to take over the leadership of the state for more than seven years, so I sat with him and we had a heart to heart conversation, and based on my conviction, I said to myself, look, this man is better prepared than you are and since you share the same vision with him, it will mean that you both can put efforts together to achieve it”
Anyaso described his principal as someone who has a heart for people and has demonstrated it through his philanthropical gestures, capacity and human development without political sentiments.
He expressed optimism that his party will emerge as the winner in the 2023 governorship election as him and his principal have edge over other candidates in various political parties.
“I and my principal are two vibrant youths among the young people in the state, and these youths we represent have trust in us. Politics is about people and people, mostly youths and women are the structure of our party, and that’s why I am confident that we will win come next year election”
