Nigerians in the diaspora have been advised to visit the official website of the National Identity Management Commission, NIMC to enable them register for the National Identity Number, NIN.
AFNews understands that the Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, NiDCOM, Mrs Abike Dabiri-Erewa, gave the directive while responding to a netizen who demanded to know how Nigerian citizens in the abroad can enrol for the NIMC.
Dabiri-Erewa in her response to the Twitter user identified as @woye1 noted that the details of the agents approved to register Nigerians for NIN in the diaspora could be found on NIMC’s official website.
“Nigerians abroad are asking how will they enroll for @nimc_ng pls @DrIsaPantami @FMoCDENigeria @nidcom_gov @abikedabiri @GeoffreyOnyeama @ProfOsinbajo,” the netizen asked.
Responding to the tweet, Dabiri-Erewa tweeted: “Nigerians abroad should visit NIMC website http://nimc.gov.ng for details of their agents accredited to register Nigerians abroad all over the world.”

Meanwhile, the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has on Tuesday said some enrolment centres across the country were shut down due to the non-adherence to the COVID-19 prevention protocols.
AFNews reports that the NIMC made this known in a post on its Twitter page on Monday.
