NFF Announces Jose Peseiro As New Super Eagles Coach, Reveals Contract Details
Nigeria’s football governing body, NFF, has confirmed the appointment of Jose Peseiro as the new head coach of the national team.
The Portuguese’s appointment has been sealed after months of speculations and reports the NFF and Sunday Dare’s Ministry of Youth and Sports were at loggerheads over the choice of a coach.
However, according to OwnGoalNigeria, the 62-year-old has been handed only a one-year contract to take charge of the nation’s top flight team, Super Eagles.

The 12-month deal is subject to renewal based on performance-related clauses.
The clause in the appointment comes on the heels of the NFF’s legal battle with former coach, Gernot Rohr.
FIFA has already ordered the federation to pay Rohr the sum of $380,000 as compensation for breach of contract.
The former Venezuela manager comes in amid a backlog of below par performances from the struggling team.
Peseiro’s first matches in charge will be the friendlies against Ecuador and Mexico in the US.
The games will be followed by the qualifiers for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations.
