NCC Continue Awareness On Child Online Protection

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), has continued to lay emphasis on the need for children to be protected online.

The Commission in line with its responsibility, lays emphasis on the Child Online Protection (COP)  initiative.

The NCC is the independent Regulatory Authority for the telecom industry in Nigeria.

Defining COP, the NCC said;

” Child Online Protection (COP) is any measure or initiative that addresses or prevents children from situations of violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation while online. It refers to protecting children from or against any perceived or real danger/risk.

” It helps to reduce their vulnerability in harmful situations”.
