Messi’s Argentina Loses To Saudi Arabia At World Cup

Lionel Messi’s Argentina team on Tuesday were stunned by Saudi Arabia with a 1-2 loss in their World Cup first group match.

The seven time Ballon D’or winner had given the South American giants an early lead through a penalty.

However, in what appears as one of the biggest upset in World Cup history, the Saudi Arabia side turned the game around immediately after the second half resumed with Saleh Alshehri’s goal, 48′, leveling up with Argentina and Saleh Aldawsari’s 53rd minute winning goal.

This defeat puts a halt to Argentina’s 36-match unbeaten run to a shuddering halt.

The World cup two-time winners will seek to get back to their winning ways if they want to progress beyond the group stage when they come against Mexico and Poland who is in the same group C with them.
