Inside The Meeting: Makinde Reveals What Wike Told Tinubu About PDP And 2027 Election

Makinde has made a major revelation about Wike, Tinubu and PDP ahead of 2027. Click the link below to read the full story.

A fresh political controversy has erupted within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, alleged that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, had promised to weaken the Peoples Democratic Party in favour of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Makinde made the revelation during a meeting with Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, where discussions reportedly centered on the crisis rocking the PDP and the future of the party.

The Oyo State Governor’s statement is already generating reactions across political circles as it suggests deeper political alignments ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Makinde stated that he was personally present at a meeting involving Wike and President Tinubu where the FCT Minister allegedly promised to hold down the PDP for the President ahead of the next election.

According to him, any PDP member currently aligning with Wike and his political group has indirectly agreed to support Tinubu’s political ambition in 2027.

The governor said members are free to support any candidate of their choice but should be open about their political position rather than working from within the PDP to undermine the party.

Political analysts say the statement may deepen the ongoing crisis within the PDP, which has been struggling with internal divisions since the last general election.

The PDP has been facing internal crises involving party leadership, control of party structures, and political alignments ahead of future elections.

Makinde’s statement appears to confirm speculations in political circles that some members of the opposition party may be working with the ruling party ahead of the next presidential election.

He also alleged that those aligned with Wike may have the backing of government institutions, including the judiciary and electoral authorities, while stating that his own group believes they have the support of the Nigerian people.

The statement signals that political realignments ahead of the 2027 elections may already be underway across major political parties in Nigeria.

Observers say the comments by Makinde show that the political battle ahead of 2027 may not only be between different political parties but also within parties themselves.

The PDP, which is the main opposition party, is expected to play a major role in the next presidential election, but internal divisions may weaken the party if not resolved.

Political analysts believe that alliances, defections, and internal party struggles will shape the political landscape in the coming years leading to the next general elections.

Makinde’s statement has therefore added a new dimension to the political conversation about alliances and political strategies ahead of 2027.
