The people of Mbalano/Umuasua and other neighbouring communities in Isuikwuato LGA of Abia state can now heave a sigh of relief courtesy of the construction of the very strategic Mbalano/Umuasua road attracted by a financial expert and Chieftain of the APC in Abia state, Dr. Alex Otti OFR through the NDDC.
Otti had a few months ago announced the commencement of construction work on the road which he said was aimed at alleviating the sufferings of Isiukwuato indigenes, especially those from the aforementioned communities who use the road on a daily basis.
He disclosed that even though he’s not in government, but that he will continue to leverage on his network of contacts and relationship with his friends in power at the highest level to attract development and empowerment to the people of Abia state, and made it clear that every road project attracted by him through the NDDC must be built to meet the best standard so as to serve the people of the state well.
It would be recalled that Dr. Alex Otti had little over two years ago attracted massive road projects in Isialangwa South L.G.A of the state through the NDDC. The Isieketa-Mbawsi road which cuts across Isialangwa North and South, and connects many Communities in the two LGAS is considered the longest and the most strategic and solid NDDC road projects done in Abia state, and in recognition of the importance of the road to the people of Isialangwa North and South, as well as the effort of Otti in ensuring that quality job was done, the Federal government represented by the Special Adviser to the President on Media, Mr. Femi Adesina was on ground to commission the first phase of the road project, to the joy and excitement of the people of the area.
Following the completion of the second phase of the road project which connects Isialangwa North, work has since commenced on the last phase of the road project which is the Okpokiri/Okpualangwa road.
Also to ensure that the roads already built remain in good shape, Dr. Otti placed some youths of the area on salary and assigned them with the responsibility of clearing the bush paths near the roads on regular basis.
In a similar development, the people of Arochukwu in Arochukwu LGA of the state who also benefited immensely from the NDDC road projects attracted by Dr. Alex Otti have applauded the APC Chieftain for the several road projects attracted to their various communities, most of which had been completed while others are ongoing. The people expressed appreciation to Dr. Otti for the road projects and promised to ensure that the roads are well utilized to avoid untimely collapse.
Analysts believe that Otti, an ex bank Chief executive who in spite of his membership of APGA then was able to attract some projects from the APC led federal government, now stands a better chance of attracting more projects to Abia state because the federal government and the APC leadership consider him as a man of high reputation and class whose passion for quality and excellence is public knowledge.
