Former Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant Gen. Azubuike O. Ihejirika (Rtd), has at last, revealed why he defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

The retired general gave the revelation at the Methodist Church, diocese of Aba 31st annual Diocesan Synod held at St. Mathew’s Methodist Church, 17B Ukaegbu road, Ogbor Hill Aba, with the theme, “Watch and Pray”.
At the event, led by the Presiding priest, Most Rev’d Dr. J.O. Ikem, Archbishop of Aba diocese, the church revealed her plans to move the Methodist High School to it’s permanent site, and as such solicited for support.
In his remark as the chairman of event, Lt. Gen. Ihejirika Rtd stated that the education project is a worthy one. He went further to reveal that we have so many schools around, but their a great need for quality schools. He encouraged everyone present to always make sure they contribute in church projects anytime opportunity shows up.

On why he moved to APC, the Isuikwuato born military general said, “We can not continue to close our eyes while things get worst, so the need to join a party, contribute our views in trying to make things better is important”
He added that all must get involved to contribute and ensure that things do not get worse but begin to get better.
Ihejirika charged all well meaning Abians to join hands in the move to fix the state.
