Isuikwuato Stakeholders Dissociates Self From Amobi Ogah’s Comment On Tinubu
Stakeholders of Isuikwuato in Abia State, has dissociated itself from a comment made on President Bola Tinubu by Amobi Ogah, the member-elect for Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency.
Amobi Ogah, elected under the Labour Party, while speaking to journalists on Thursday, June 8, after members-elect of the 10th National Assembly met with Bola Tinubu at the presidential villa, said he never knew that Tinubu is a very intelligent man, who is prepared to serve Nigeria, adding that he was happy “seeing my president talking.”
Ogah further stated that he will put party affiliation aside and support the All Progressives Congress (APC) nominated candidates for the leadership of the House of Representatives.
The APC had nominated Tajudeen Abbas from Kaduna and Benjamin Kalu from Abia State for the positions of Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the 10th Assembly.
According to Ogah, the unity of Nigeria is more important to him than political party.
In his words;
“Today is my best day. Today, I’m so happy that I’m an elected member seeing my president talking. In fact, I’ve never known that this man is so intelligent”.
“I never knew that this man is so prepared to serve this country. I saw the love, character, and charisma; the belief that Nigeria can be a better nation.”
“So, I’m so glad that the meeting we had today is going to take us a little bit to a more stabilised house. Now, even without talking to us again, we have agreed that we are going towards the government’s decision,” he said.
“Not minding (that) I’m of Labour Party, as of now, the party is not the issue. We’re talking about building the nation. We are talking about the unity of the nation”.
Reacting to Ogah’s comment, Isuikwuato Stakeholders in a statement co-signed by Chief Engineer Charles Omesie Ojukwu (Coordinator, Isuikwuato Stakeholders Forum); Chief Dr. Chukwuemeka Njionye Oluoha (Secretary); and Chief Innocent Madubuko (Public Relations Officer) said the lawmaker-elect represented his personal opinion and not of his constituents, adding that it is too early for the new administration to enjoy praises.
The statement read;
The Isuikwuato Stakeholders Forum wishes to dissociate itself from a purported praise-singing interview granted to the Press by the Member Representing Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives Abuja.
The Forum wishes to state that in this instance, the Member representing our Constituency made statements that represented his personal opinion and not that of his Constituency. We believe that it is yet too early in the day in the new administrations for praise singing.
