Some yet to be identified men suspected to be ritualists have reportedly cut off a farmer’s manhood and head in Imo State community.
One Israel Ihenacho, a resident of Mbaitoli Local Government Area of the state was found lifeless on Wednesday, February 10 with his body parts butchered by the unknown assailants.
The disturbing event which reportedly happened around the Orodo Market was said to stir commotion among residents of the affected community. Confirming the incident to reporters, an eyewitness said “Those who discovered the lifeless body were people going for early morning market business.
“We are not happy that this kind of thing is happening in the community, we are just going to the market to sell some produce from our farms only for us to see a dead body without head and even the breast.
“We think that some group of ritualists have entered into our community and something must be done about it now. This is completely bad for this community,” he noted.
The eyewitness revealed that Ihenacho’s head, manhood, including the left side of his breast were cut off by his attackers.
“This man is also a palm wine tapper and we don’t know why he was targeted. A poor man for that matter, this is wicked I must say,” the eyewitness said.
On his part, while responding to the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Orlando Ikeokwu, said the state Commissioner of Police, Nasiru Muhammed, had ordered an investigation into the matter.
