The Ikwuano Local Government Area (LGA) chapter of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, has submitted a petition to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, calling for an absolute cancellation of wards where electoral malpractice such as ballot box snatching, vote buying and intimidation of voters held sway.

In a petition which was copied to the Resident Electoral officer of INEC in Ikwuano LGA; the Divisional Police Officer of Ikwuano Division; the Director of the Department of State Security Service; and the state chairman of the party, which was signed by the Acting Chairman of the party in the local government area, Ndubuisi Eze, and the collation agent of the party for the LG, Onyebuchi Isaac, the party challenged the outcome of the result in those troubled areas and demanded for an outright cancellation, so as to enable a well supervised rerun take place.

The party listed the wards where malpractices happened as OLOKO WARD 1 (11 polling units), OLOKO WARD 2 (10 polling units), OBORO 1 (12 polling units) , OBORO 2 (10 polling units), USAKA (3 polling units) and ARIAM (12 Polling units).
