Ikpeazu May Lose 2023 Senatorial Election If ……… Kingsley Megwara Warns
Chief Kingsley Onyemaechi Megwara, the PDP Presidential campaign spokesperson in Abia state, has predicted that Governor Okezie Ikpeazu may fail in his ambition to represent the people of Abia South at the senate come 2023.
Megwara who featured on ‘Focal Point’ an AF-TELEVISION Programme on Monday, November 21, said Ikpeazu’s association with the Group of five (G5) governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), may cost him the senatorial seat if he fails to withdraw his membership from the G5 governors. Megwara noted that there are Abia leaders and stakeholders in the likes of Chief Adolphus Wabara, Senator T.A. Orji, Chief Onyema Ugochukwu, whom Ikpeazu needs to consult before taking certain political decisions. He therefore advised Ikpeazu to do a re-examination of his political association considering that he is running for an elective office.
I do think that our current governor will have to make assessment at the appropriate time about his involvement with G5 Governors. Am afraid that, that involvement may personally affect his chances of going to the senate” Megwara said.
“there is a distinction between himself (Ikpeazu) and governor Wike who is not running for anything. He has to be very careful how he dangles the carrot” he added.
He restated that the interest of the G5 governors does not reflect the interest of over 200million Nigerians.
