The Department of State Services (DSS), on Monday, August 2, presented in court, 8 aides of popular Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo alias Sunday Igboho, against their earlier claim of having just 3 aides in their custody.
The DSS were said to have arrested 12 aides of Igboho during a raid in his house on July 1, 2021.
During the last sitting on Thursday, July 29, the DSS failed to produce the arrested persons in court, however, counsel representing them, Barrister I. Awo told the Federal High Court in Abuja, that his clients had just 3 aides in their custody and not 12.
The presiding judge, Justice Obiora Egwuatu had ordered that the arrested persons be produced in the next sitting to enable the court to inquire into the circumstances surrounding their arrest and detention.
He also ordered the DSS to show cause why the persons in their custody should not be admitted to bail.
The resumed hearing was stood down for a while, as Barrister Awo was on his way coming to court.
