Amid the contention between them, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi on Monday said that he will work with the Governor of Anambra State, Chukwuma Soludo to tackle Nigerian’s challenges.
Obi made this known during a meeting with the Nigerian Guild of Editors at Protea Hotel in Ikeja, Lagos State.
“He (Soludo) knows and he has the solution so I need to consult him to help me,” Obi said of the Anambra governor whom he fondly referred to as his brother.
According to the LP candidate, in making sure that he’s government is women inclusive, he will adopt the Bangladesh model of 35% Affirmative action that would create an atmosphere where 50% of women are engaged in Natrional Productivity Programme.
The duo had of late been involved in verbal exchanged with Soludo, a former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria asserting that Obi, who was Anambra governor between 2006 and 2014 and the LP presidential flagbearer will lose at the 2023 polls as there are “two serious parties/persons in the presidential race.
However, Obi replied that he did his little as governor of Anambra and urged Soludo to do his best in the state as an economics professor.
