I Am Disappointed In Ikpeazu; He Blew An Excellent Opportunity – PDP Chieftain Megwara | WATCH VIDEO

Megwara while appearing on AF-TELEVISION Programme “Focal Point” on Thursday, regretted that Ikpeazu failed the expectations of many who saw capacity in him and sacrificed a lot to see that he became governor in 2015.

According to Megwara, Dr Ikpeazu would have made a beautiful bride and could have been honoured like late Sam Mbake and Michael Okpara, rather he choose to waste “the efforts of all those who sacrificed a lot to see him into power with his lackluster performance in the state”.

“I am very sad that we didn’t do as much as we were expected to do. When late Chijioke Nwakodo assembled a group of men and saw Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, we saw capacity , charisma, youth and good health and we all rallied around to make things happen.

“Ikpeazu’s 8 years in office was not the expectation of people like Kingsley Megwara, Dike Uduma, Osita Ikpo, John Nwangborogwu; these are people who put in everything in 2015 when he (Ikpeazu) didn’t have anything; when it was not clear who was going to be governor” Megwara lamented.

“The man whom we thought was going to be the next Sam Mbakwe and Michael Okpara of Abia state; Ikpeazu didn’t really cash in on the goodwill that he enjoyed  in the beginning”

He opined that Ikpeazu would have been the vice presidential candidate of the PDP in the 2023 election if he had performed well, adding that “maybe, the result would have been different”.

“I am disappointed and hurt because it was an excellent opportunity that was blown. Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, today, would have been a beautiful bride.; there is no way Senator Ifeanyi Okowa would have been picked as the vice presidential candidate of the PDP if Ikpeazu had done well; if he had used Abia state as a testing the microphone state, everybody would have said Ikpeazu vice presidential candidate of the PDP, who knows the result would have been different. we all thought that Ikpeazu had the capacity and competence and Charisma Peter Obi enjoys today and unfortunately, he blew it”.
