How Soldiers Were Killed In Anambra | WATCH VIDEO
At lease five soldiers of the Nigerian Army have lost their life in a shoot out with yet to be identified gunmen in Umunze community in Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The incident happened beside Zenith Bank close to the popular Nkwo Umunze market at about 12:30pm.
According to eyewitnesses, gunmen opened fire on sighting soldiers who were in an army-marked Sienna patrol vehicle.
Governor Chukwuma Soludo in his reaction to the attack, vowed not to rest until the perpetrators are caught and made to face the law.
The governor in a statement signed by his media aide, Christian Aburime, said in part;
“We condemn this wicked and cruel attack in the strongest terms. The perpetrators of this act must pay.”
“We are not going to rest on our oars, including those people that attacked Senator Ifeanyi Ubah and the rest. There will be absolutely no hiding place for them.
“Going forward, our actions will show, as these people must surely pay for this heinous and repulsive attack.”
