A 34 –year-old Ayuba Adavo have been arrested for allegedly ra-ping a 24 year old lady in Warri, Delta State.
The victim who reported the incident to the police after the drunk suspect slept off, said Adavo accosted her on Sunday, on the Amagiya Road, Sapele at about 8pm.
He had allegedly dragged her to his house threatening to shoot her with a locally made gun before forcefully sleeping with her.
The lady further revealed that she sneaked out to report to the police when she discovered that Adavo had slept off after the act.
Operatives of the Delta state police command arrived the scene where the suspect was arrested on Monday.
Police found a locally made gun, a live cartridge among other incriminating items in his possession.
According to the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Bright Edafe, investigations is still on.
