How 15 Killed, Dozens Injured in Fresh Attack in Zamfara,

Five communities in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State have been attacked by unidentified terrorists who stormed the area in their numbers in the early hours of Wednesday, May 20.

The communities attacked include; Bidda, Ungwar Rogo, Kajera, Karda, Magazawa where 15 people comprising of male adults, were killed, and dozens injured

According to Muhammadu Alkhamis, the community’s spokesman, “They came with over 60 motorcycles and each motorcycle conveyed three of their members; everybody started running helter-skelter,” he said.

When contacted, the state police public Relation officer (PPRO), SP Mohammed Shehu confirmed the incident.

’“It was a reprisal from the Fulani whose people were also killed by the Yansakai at Unguwar Rogo community” the PPRO said.

The state police spokesman said that the people of Unguwar Rogo village had earlier intercepted some Fulani herdsmen migrating from Daza village in the Bungudu Local Government Area of the state three days ago.

“Five of the Fulani people were able to escape and the remaining two were killed by the Yansakai,” he alleged.

Speaking further Shehu said that the Yansakai refused to surrender the two dead bodies to their people for burial, despite appeals by the Divisional Police officer in charge of the area.

According to Shehu, the aggrieved Fulani people attacked the three communities in order to retrieve the dead bodies of their brothers and also avenge their killings.

He said that the police had already dispatched armed policemen to the areas to comb the axis and apprehend the Fulani, saying that the police were making effort to restore normalcy to the communities.
