The Member representing Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency, Hon. Amobi Godwin Ogah, has extended his warmest birthday wishes to Retired Navy Captain Chris Osondu, a former Military Governor of Cross River State and an esteemed elder statesman from Eluama in Isuikwuato Local Government Area, Abia State.

 

In his heartfelt message, Hon. Ogah described Navy Captain (Rtd) Osondu as a beacon of leadership, discipline, and national service, whose contributions to Nigeria’s security and governance remain deeply respected. He praised the former governor for his exemplary service in the Nigerian Navy and his impactful leadership during his tenure as the Military Governor of Cross River State.

 

“Today, we celebrate a great son of my constituency and a living symbol of courage, patriotism, and commitment to national development. Retired Navy Captain Chris Osondu is not just a respected military officer and administrator, but also a role model for the younger generation,” Hon. Ogah stated.

 

The lawmaker thanked the elder statesman for his unwavering dedication to the unity and progress of Nigeria and for being a shining example of integrity and humility. He prayed for God’s continued blessings upon Capt. Osondu, wishing him sound health, more wisdom, and long life.

 

“On behalf of the good people of Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency, I join family, friends, and associates to say a big happy birthday to a man of honour and excellence. May this new year bring him more grace, peace, and joy,” he added.

 

Navy Captain Chris Osondu (Rtd) served as Military Governor of Cross River State between 1998 and 1999 during the military administration of General Abdulsalam Abubakar. He is widely regarded as one of the prominent figures from Isuikwuato whose service to the nation continues to inspire.
