Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, has granted automatic employment to 9 Ex-Corps members of Abia origin, who recently received Presidential NYSC honour awards.
Governor Otti granted the automatic employment while receiving in his office, the 9 Ex-Corps members led by the NYSC State Coordinator, Barr. Gladys Adama.
He directed the State Head of Service to issue them appointment letters with immediate effect.
“On behalf of the State Government, you are going to leave here with a token. But beyond the token, I hereby temporarily lift the embargo on employment to employ the nine of you, except if any of you is not interested.
“So, having lifted that embargo and having employed all of you, I also close the embargo.
“Honourable Attorney General, please communicate to the Head of Service that the nine of them should be given automatic employment. No interviews. They have already passed the interviews.
“So, what you need to do is go and do your documentation and then you can start work on Monday,” Gov. Otti stated.
Governor Otti, who appreciated them for their outstanding performance during their service year which earned them the Presidential Honour, charged them to continue to be outstanding in everything they do. He equally thanked the NYSC State Coordinator for the great work she is doing and for bringing outstanding Ex-Corp members to him.
Responding on behalf of the Ex-Corp members that were offered automatic employment, Mr. Nwogu Chinomso from Obingwa LGA, thanked Governor Otti for the recognition and appointment given to them. He promised that they would serve the State with dedication.
“I want to sincerely express our heartfelt gratitude to you, Your Excellency, for the recognition and encouragement you have given to us”
“Also, let me use this opportunity to commend your good work in the State. Your Excellency, you are a true leader. You are the Joshua of our time. Our prayer is that the Almighty God will continue to give you the wisdom to pilot the affairs of this State in Jesus name. Amen, ” he declared.
Earlier while presenting the Ex-Corp members, the NYSC State Coordinator, Barr. Gladys Adama said that the Nine Ex-Corp members made the State proud during their service year and were decorated by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on the 29th of July this year.
“I have come with these persons who have done Abia proud. Out of about a hundred and something, Your Excellency, Abia came first with nine of these champions.
“They excelled themselves in their various places of primary assignment. As you have been told, Your Excellency, none of them served in Abia State. In fact, only one of them served in the east while others served in far away North.
The Ex-Corp members who were granted automatic employment include;

- Anyanwụ Promise
- Ezieme Francis uba
- Emmanuel Ogbenyealu Ezinne
- Abia Chinwendu Grace
- Nwafike Esther Chiemela
- Dr Ugwa Obinna Mark
- Eke Lawrence Miracle
- James Raphael chukwuebuka.
The reception was witnessed by senior Government appointees.
