BREAKING: Fubara Wins As Supreme Court Upholds His Election | READ DETAILS

The election victory of governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State, has been upheld by the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

The five man panel of the Supreme Court led by Justice Ibrahim Saulawa,  dismissed the appeal filed by Tonye Cole of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday on the grounds that the appellant failed to prove his allegations that there was non-compliance with the Electoral Act during the election.

Cole had alleged that the election was marred by irregularities and that Fubara did not validly resign his previous position as required by the law, before the election.

Recall that both the tribunal and the Court of Appeal dismissed Cole’s case for want of merit.
