Finally, Femi Gbajabiamila Resigns From House Of Reps After 20 Years
The immediate past Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, has tendered his letter of resignation from the House.
Gbajabiamila’s resignation letter was read on the floor of the House on Wedneday, June 14 by the new speaker, Tajudeen Abbas.
He resigned after serving as a lawmaker for 20 years to take up his new appointment as the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu.
With his resignation from the House, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will now have to conduct a fresh election to fill the position of the member representing Surulere 1.
