Elder Abraham Amah, Vice Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), for Abia North Senatorial District, have expressed confidence that his party will sweep the Federal House of Representative and Senatorial seats in 2023.
Elder Amah while featuring on ‘Focal Point’ an AFTELEVISION Programme on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, stated that the PDP ahead of the 2023 general elections are engaging in activities that will help them dislodge all Abia North APC members in the red and green chambers.
He expressed hope that PDP which is in charge of 5 local government areas in Abia North and Councils, will come out stronger in 2023.
“The hope of the party is very high because by next year, we will be going for an election and we hope to recover the seats we have lost in the Federal House and also the Senate seats.
“We are doing everything through mass mobilization, sensitization, voters’ education, community interaction to make sure that the people see reasons why PDP should be in power”.
He refuted postulations that Abia North is ruled by the APC, stating that the seeming existence of APC in the area is owed to a disagreement that had ensued within the PDP.
“Abia North cannot be said to be APC. There was a political encroachment in 2015 by the APC. That encroachment was factored y certain discernment within the PDP itself. What you see today in what they call APC, is a kind of aggrieved members. People who have played big time roles in PDP in the past”.
Elder Amah however noted that the issues are being resolved, adding that some members who had left are returning back to the PDP.
“We have seen card carrying members of APC in Arochukwu, Bende, Isuikwuato, Ohafia and Umuneochi Local Government Areas. We have seen them in their hundreds and thousands trooping back to the PDP. We are going to take over our ground” the Chieftain said.
