” I believe that the way the police is structured right now should be looked into and I believe that it should be decentralized and I strongly believe that the powers of the police should be vested in the state government and these are one of the things I will be promoting in the House.
“I have a plan of putting up a bill, even though it has been done by predecessors, we need to keep hammering on it” he said.
According to Nnamani, the American system of policing is very effective because the state government has strong control of the police.
“That is why you have the NYPD, new York police, Los Angeles police station, FBI which is controlled by the federal.”
He noted that the trend of using individuals who are not familiar with a particular area, limits the victory on the fight against insecurity.
Nnamani posited that having a decentralize police system, where indigenes are put in charge of security in their areas, insecurity will be combatted to a minimum.
