DATA DEPLETION: How To Make Your Data Last – NCC Reveals |READ DETAILS

The Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) has revealed the root causes of data depletion. The commission also disclosed measures for data consumers to enjoy a lasting data in their Android phones, Tablets and Laptops:

The causes and prevention of data depletion as pointed by the NCC are below;

CAUSES:

  1. Inadequate knowledge of use of smart phones, laptops and tablets
  2. Automatic update of smart phone operating systems (Android, Iphone, Blackberry)
  3. Non closure of applications running on the phone
  4. Lack of knowledge on how to calculate bandwith usage and cost per unit

 

PREVENTION:

  1. Limit your data usage in Android or IOS settings
  2. Restrict App background data
  3. Use data compression in Google Chrome
  4. Update apps over WiFi only
  5. Limit your use of video and audio streaming activities
  6. Install and activate only the apps you need
  7. Cache Google Maps for offline use
  8. Optimise accounts sync settings
