MAY THE RESURRECTION OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST BRING HEALING TO THE WHOLE WORLD
Press Release
Fellow Abians, no matter how unusual the circumstances around us seem, no matter the havoc coronavirus is wrecking all over the world, we must celebrate the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The ressurection Christ is a symbol of victory, freedom and joy! We cannot mourn because of the global and national tension that Covid-19 has brought. We shall rejoice and be glad because Christ brought victory to us.
The Bible teaches us to give thanks in all circumstances. Apostle Paul says in 1 Thessalonians 5:18 “Give thanks to God in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” King David also said in Psalm 34:1 “I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth.”
With the above portions of the Bible, we wish all Abians a Happy Easter and we’re believing strongly that the spiritual meaning of Easter, when our saviour Jesus Christ died and resurrected will usher in a new beginning to the whole world in this trial period.
Nevertheless fellow Abians, we beseech you to please put on your cap of wisdom and your apparel of obedience while celebrating so that we don’t veer off the precautionary measures put in place to check the spread of the dangerous Covid-19.
We must not allow ourselves to fall pray to Covid-19 as a result of our own miscalculations this period that government issued a relax on certain restrictions to enable people shop for Easter.
Please fellow Abians, we must be more health conscious during this celebration period because life continues after it. We must obey all directives given to us by government and health experts.
1 Chronicles 22:13 says, “Then you will prosper, if you are careful to observe the statutes and the ordinances which the LORD commanded Moses concerning Israel. Be strong and courageous, do not fear nor be dismayed.” We plead with all of us to replace Israel with Abia and Moses with our leaders in this passage so that it’ll be well with us all.
It’s obvious that the coronavirus pandemic is practically making all Christians to celebrate
Easter in a subdued manner, denying us access to our churches to observe the usual congregational songs of praise, but let us count it all joy for it’s a trial of our faith.
As Apostle James says in James 1:2-4, “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.”
No matter the situation now, we see hope. Coronavirus is deadly yes, as Christians and in the spirit of Easter, we say thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Abians don’t forget, weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
If we can stay safe by observing every necessary precautionary measures, God will lead us in triumph through the resurrection of Christ, coronavirus may have what it takes to destroy mankind in this battle, but victory belongs to the LORD whom we trust will deliver us.
We are aware that many families have nothing to even eat not to talk of celebrating with, but like we’ve always done, we still continue to call on fellow Abians who are more blessed by God to please help and remember our brethren who cannot feed themselves this period.
In the spirit of Easter knowing fully well that the resurrection of Jesus brought joy to the whole world, we plead with all political office holders and business men and women not to forget to spread the joy Christ brought among our vulnerable brethren for they need it more now.
For us who call ourselves Christians, let us remember what is written in James 1:27 which says, “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”
If giving to the poor doesn’t attract blessings, we’re sure Apostle Luke in Luke 6:38 will not have said “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”
Acts 20:35 says, “I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.”
The book of Proverbs 19:17 even added to it when it says that “He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.”
Happy Easter and God bless Abia and Nigeria.
