CONSENSUS CANDIDATE: Northern APC Govs Submits 5 Aspirants’ Names To Buhari
Following the push by Northern All Progressives Congress (APC), governors to ensure that power moves to the south come 2023, the governors have submitted five names of aspirants to president Muhammadu Buhari to consider for a consensus candidate to emerge.
According to the Chairman of the Northern Governors Forum and Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong on Tuesday, the aspirants whose names appear on the list for consideration, were graded by the party screening committee based on specified metrics.
The aspirants are;
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo; former Lagos State governor, Bola Tinubu; Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi; former Transportation Minister, Rotimi Amaechi; and Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State.
However, other aspirants are allowed to participate at the primary billed for today.
Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari has denied reports that he has an anointed candidate , assuring that there will be no imposition.
