Abia State is set to record another major cultural and economic milestone as preparations intensify for the official flag-off ceremony of the “Chronicles of Enyimba” Aba Made Film Project, an initiative designed to showcase the rich cultural heritage, history, and creative strength of the Enyimba City and Abia at large.
The project, endorsed by the Abia State Government under the leadership of Governor Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, aims to position Aba as a rising hub for filmmaking, tourism, and creative investment.
The flag-off ceremony—open to the general public—will have as Chairman of the Occasion, the Founder and Chairman of CAADES Group and the Chima Anyaso Foundation, Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso, a renowned businessman and philanthropist with strong roots in supporting innovation.
Speaking ahead of the event, Dr. Anyaso described the project as a perfect example of what becomes possible when leadership supports creativity.
According to him, “When creativity converges with a supportive government, it catalyzes increased investment and fosters development.”
He commended Governor Otti’s administration for creating an enabling environment that encourages creatives, investors, and innovators to flourish, stressing that Abia’s creative and entertainment sectors are now ripe for national and international recognition.
Dr. Anyaso further urged Abians—at home and in the diaspora—to see the Aba Made Film Project as more than just filmmaking, but as a movement that will help strengthen Abia’s identity, expand tourism opportunities, and attract both local and foreign investment.
“This initiative is a monumental leap toward showcasing our rich heritage and unlocking our economic possibilities,” he said, calling on well-meaning Abians to support the vision and participate fully.
The project team emphasized that the flag-off ceremony will mark the beginning of a transformative cultural journey that will not only tell Aba’s story but also elevate Abia on Nigeria’s creative map and the global stage.
