A prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Designer Ohiri O. Lewis, has congratulated Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State and Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State on their decision to join the ruling APC, describing the move as “a major boost for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda.”
Speaking on Wednesday, Ohiri said the defection of the two governors signifies a new political direction in the South-East and South-South, where the ruling party is gradually consolidating its presence and gaining overwhelming support.
He noted that the growing number of political heavyweights joining the APC is a clear indication that President Tinubu’s developmental strides are gaining the trust of Nigerians.
“Governors across party lines are now realizing that President Tinubu means well for Nigeria. He has shown leadership, courage, and commitment to national development. Joining the APC means joining the movement for progress,” Ohiri stated.
The APC chieftain also issued a subtle warning to other South-East governors and political leaders yet to align with the APC, urging them to “act fast before they lose political relevance.”
“Let me be clear — the APC has now become the winning platform in the South-East. Anyone who fails to align with this reality will find it difficult to survive politically. The South-East is now ready to work with the centre for real development,” he declared.
Ohiri further praised the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, for what he described as “his unmatched representation of Ndigbo and his ongoing developmental projects in Abia State.”

According to him, Kalu’s visibility at the national level has redefined the perception of the South-East in national politics, creating bridges of inclusion and development between the region and the federal government.
“Benjamin Kalu has been a blessing to the South-East. His efforts in the National Assembly and the projects he has attracted to Abia State are clear evidence that the APC is working for the people,” Ohiri added.
Ohiri concluded by urging all progressive-minded Nigerians to support President Tinubu and his administration in the task of nation-building, assuring that more political leaders would soon declare for the APC as the party continues to expand its influence across the country.
