Akwa Ibom State Governor Urges Nigerians To Pardon Secessionist Agitators

The Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel has called on Nigerians to pardon agitators of disintegration of the country.

The Governor who spoke in Uyo the state’s capital when a delegation of Journalists from the North paid him a visit said; “We must work together to bridge the gap even as we forgive the ignorance of those who want a divided country.“

Borrowing a leaf elsewhere, Governor Emmanuel added that “America is a united and solid country using its diverse culture and people to that country’s advantage and that should be what Nigerians should be clamouring for”.

He also admonished stakeholders in the country to refrain from passing comments that could divide the country.

The leader of the team, Mr Buhari Bala, a former Minister of State, Foreign Affairs, called on Journalists to build bridges of unity in their noble profession.

“Together, we are better as one nation,” he said.

On his part, a former Minister of Information, Dasuki Nakande said the visit cuts across the Niger Delta interns of Journalism in the country.

He said journalists should seek to work without sentiments for the good of a united Nigeria.

The team inspected projects that have direct impact on Nigerians.
