Comrade Chris Akomas is spearheading the 2024 National Conference of the Forum of Former Deputy Governors in Nigeria. The event will focus on addressing critical issues like good governance, food security, and economic stability, with notable experts leading key discussions.
All is set for the 2024 edition of the annual National Conference of the Forum of Former Deputy Governors in Nigeria. Scheduled for October 22-23 in Abuja, the conference will bring together thought leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders to discuss strategic solutions for Nigeria’s pressing challenges.
According to Comrade Chris Akomas, Chairman of the Forum, this year’s conference will feature inspiring discussions centered around the theme, “Strategic Solutions for Good Governance, Food Security, and Sustainable Growth in Nigeria.” The event aims to tackle six key areas critical to Nigeria’s development:
Leadership and Citizenship: Exploring innovative solutions for effective leadership and citizenship.
Ensuring Food Security: Addressing challenges and opportunities in Nigeria’s agricultural sector.
Stabilizing the Economy: Developing policies and strategies for economic stability and growth.
Project Sustainability and Completion: Ensuring effective project development and execution.
The Renewed Hope Agenda: Discussing the prospects and challenges of the current government’s agenda.
Overhauling the Education Curriculum: Leveraging education reforms as a springboard for wealth creation.
Comrade Akomas noted that notable experts such as Prof. Uche Uwaleke, Prof. Habu Mohammed, Afolabi Olowookere, and Prof. Nuhu Gworgwor will lead various discussions. The conference promises to be a platform for high-level dialogue on good governance and sustainable development.
A key feature of this year’s conference is the participation of delegates from the Chambers of Commerce of Exporters and Importers of Poland (IGEI), who will also stage a mini exhibition of Polish products during the event.
As the third edition of the conference, the 2024 Forum of Former Deputy Governors aims to create a veritable platform for policymakers, business leaders, and the public to contribute to shaping Nigeria’s future.
